Moving on up

OK so I know it's been a while since my last post, but then again in all honesty I KNOW no one actually reads these, so technically I can be as lax as I want....and I can also say whatever I want to...like...

the other night I had a dream that I was a piece of pasta that had the ability to fly and my sister was a little hippo toy and we were being chased by an old tiger and I had to shoot her in the buttocks with my pasta arms in order to release a balloon so she could float to safety.

True Story.

In other news I have recently moved abodes and now happily reside in a little cottagey looking place with a lovely family that live in the property behind me. No more nosey old people, no more annoying little poodle and no more creepy old man chomping my underwear with his horrid false teeth.....wait, WHAT!?!

Yes I am very happy in my new house, so happy I might just die happily there. Provided I can obtain the perfect armchair in which to happily pass the rest of my life in. They even have chickens! Providing me with a lifetime supply of eggs....ahh the bliss!

I've been in the fashion of making mixed cd's lately...and posting them to people I haven't actually met in real life. So if you want a cd from me, including all original cover art and containing songs you might not like or understand just let me know. I can hook you up.

Well that's all I could be bothered writing for now, plus the monotonous job of billing our clients is calling me.
Adios xo

Tis be change in the air....arr!

So a few exciting things have happened recently, these being as follows:

  1. Laneway Tickets - obtained

  2. New House - approved

  3. Finders Keepers Markets - attending

1. I successfully maxed out my credit card this morning purchasing tickets to St Jerome's Laneway Festival, which is in January. The line up is so remarkable to me that I have decided that I'm not even going to bother going to Big Day Out. So HA!

2. I've recently been looking for a new residence, seeming as the old people living upstairs from me have decided that 10pm is the PERFECT time for piano and guitar playing, complete with singing/yodelling. Yes, time to move. So i found a rather nice little abode which i inspected on Tuesday and by Wednesday I was approved! *New house dance!!!*

3. Finders Keepers Markets - there's these MAD markets on tomorrow and Sunday in Brissie and I'm really looking forward to trying my hardest not to spend money i don't have on things i will need so very badly. Also Pikelet from Melbourne is playing and since i love her but have never been lucky enough to see her perform live I'm practically wetting myself in anticipation! WETTING.MY.PANTS.

That is all.

These are my depressions

After an entire week of being let down and trodden on my obscenely rude people I'm now going to blog about it. Yay for you!

And if you feel the urge to tell me to get over it, don't. It'll only make me angry and possibly dislike you.

I've been wallowing around in a funk for the past few days, relaxing in my melancholy thoughts, relishing my bouts of insane sadness and also enjoy a good deal of alone time. This all sounds unhealthy but don't worry I usually snap out of it sooner or later. Or when people stop being jerks and hating me in such a public fashion.

On another note, it's Friday! Cause of hope for the working masses and harbinger of the end of the week! Yay!

I started reading 'the picture of Dorian Gray' last night. I'm not too far in but there's a bit too much "man love" going on for my liking. Chapter One you suggestively worded minx you! I hope it doesn't disappoint me because I've been looking forward to reading it for some time.

Is it just me or is it a bit depressed in here?

Always remember to smile, it's SO VERY IMPORTANT!

Ello Poppet!

My nickname is Poppet. Which got me thinking....what is a Poppet? I.should.not.have.asked.

Apparently a Poppet is a freaky little person thing....there's a whole site dedicated to them to.

http://www.poppetplanet.com/about.html

Seems as though a person could really get into this whole Poppet thing.

I'm also a type of valve....not as exciting.

But anyway, with my thirst for Poppet knowledge well and truly quenched I think I might stick to making Poppet my own thing. I do my art work and also this blog under that name. I like keeping some anonymity about myself...plus I don't want old school "friends" finding me on the web and wanting to catch up. (So rude!)

In other news, I learnt how to use the old sewing machine that I scored off an old lady who lives near a friend of mine. Needless to say I now want to be a fashion designer when I grow up. I've successfully made a pillow and have now moved on to designing a t-shirt and crafting the ultimate pair of music festival shorts. (St. Jerome's Laneway here I come!)

So that's about it, I've had a terribly boring week at work so far and it doesn't look like it's set to improve any time soon. Hmmm, might be time to take a holiday me thinks!

Happy Hump Day! (the good kind not the kinky kind....sickos)

So I've finally become victorious over my dreaded head cold of DOOM! Note to self: buy a better immune system.

On another note: POSITIVITY!

I had my quarterly staff review yesterday and when given the chance to make comment on the office as a whole I said it was a melancholy dreary mess at the moment and that the staff require more positive reinforcement. And to my surprise my boss actually agreed with me. And he even wrote it down "positive communication required" TAA DAA! I really feel sorry for the accountants here because they are always bashed for not being productive enough, or being constantly reminded that we're not making money.....so hopefully this will make a change for the future....a more positive future!
My own efforts to make a more positive atmosphere consist of making funny photos and emailing them to people...ala below

Haha it's a baby cockatoo with it's hands on it's hips screaming SHERYL!!!!

In other news I bought this rare beauty from the RSPCA Op Shop yesterday for the bargain price of $3. It's in mint condition and will hopefully help me with my penchant for old school photography that I've been having lately.

It also came with film still in it, which of course I will be getting developed. Fingers crossed for someones happy holiday snaps, or a random collection of pet photographs, or something else cool like that. Fingers not crossed for happy couples, photos of people parts, or any other degrading and generally distasteful photography.

PS if you have seen the purple pen in this photo please let me know as it has gone missing and I miss it a lot. It's my favourite. Honestly who's steals pens!?!?!

In leaving I present you with this...http://www.artfulplayground.com/ an awesome blog I enjoy and think you might too...spread the word good peeps!

Holy priceless collection of Etruscan snoods, Batman!

Yes I am STILL sick. Yes I STILL suffer from copious amounts of snot pouring out of my nose. Yes I got down on the ground in the fetal position and whimpered.
In other news..... not much else has been happening. I finished reading Frankenstein, and if you're in the market for a very poignant and depressing read by all means go ahead and read it. It was interesting to find the the monster was never actually given a name (commonly it's mistaken that he is in fact Frankenstein), and he could also speak quite eloquently and was highly intelligent. I enjoyed the relationship he held with his creator Frankenstein. all in all a good read. Depressingly good.
I'm a little bit over this week already, to the point where everything is starting to get on my nerves. Just little things.....on...my...nerves!
I think I might go calm down for a bit.....

Head Cold of DOOM!

OK for the last week I swear I've lost about half my body weight in snot. I am not kidding. My work bin was FULL of tissues, and now my nose resembles some parched, red patch desert, instead of a member of my face.

I've also discovered my penchant for having a bit of a whinge when I'm sick. After spending a few moments taking little steps down the hall at work whinging "mimimimimimimimimi" I felt better. Does whinging really work? hmmm...

In other news, I successfully purchased tickets to Big Day Out yesterday. They sold out in about 23 minutes flat, so you can call me "quick fingers McGee" for managing to scathe through and obtain them, much to the delight of the 3 other people relying on me. (heaven help me if I failed!)

Surprisingly I have no plans for the weekend, but considering I still sound like a congested black lung sufferer, I may just stay at home and do the whole "R & R" thing....maybe.

I have to go now and attend to the ritual that is blowing my nose....i.e. blow nose into 3 or 4 tissues painfully until finally empty of copious amounts of snot, apply moisturiser to the destructed area that use to be my nose, rinse and repeat. (Did you know that toilet paper is WAY softer than the average tissue? Why does my posterior get such valuable treatment whilst my nose is left to be ruinously scraped as if with sandpaper?!?!)

End Rant.
